French Quarter Galleries Art Walk
Courtyard Art Gallery – Charleston, SC

Courtyard Art GalleryCome visit us at the Courtyard Art Gallery on 149 1/2 East Bay Street in downtown Charleston, SC. The French Quarter Galleries Art Walk is a free event and open to the public, located at participating galleries on: Meeting, Church, State, East Bay, Broad, Cumberland, Queen, Chalmers and Tradd Streets. Stroll the cobbled streets and gas lit alley ways to discover the works of well over 500 artists representing a diverse variety of styles and mediums from traditional to contemporary. All galleries of the French Quarter will be open between 5pm and 8pm with artists on hand and refreshments. Held seasonally the first Friday in March, May, October and December.
Courtyard Art Gallery New Member - December 1st, 2007
Alex has been accepted as a new member at the Courtyard Art Gallery on 149 1/2 East Bay Street in downtown Charleston, SC. The gallery is a co-op consisting of 16 artists including painters, photographers, a jeweler and potter. Stop by and visit us sometime.
The Columbia Museum of Art Contemporaries' Present Their Artist of the Year Soiree and Silent Auction in Columbia, SC - November 8th, 2007 - 7pm-10pm

Emerging artists across South Carolina between the ages of 18 and 40 were selected by a juried panel through the submission of artwork for the Columbia Museum of Art Contemporaries' Artist of the Year Contest. Their work will be on view and sale during the soirée and silent auction on November 8, 2007, from 7pm -10pm. Enjoy an evening of hors d’oeuvres, drinks and art. Tickets are $30. All proceeds benefit the Contemporaries' Art Acquisition Fund, designed to acquire a significant piece of artwork for the Museum. Purchase tickets online here. (www.columbiamuseum.org)

Alex and his wife, Sara, will both have two pieces each on view during the show. The winner of the contest receives a $500 prize and membership to the Contemporaries. In addition, an opening and reception will be held for the 2007 Contemporaries’ Artist of the Year during Vista Lights on Thursday, November 15, 2007, at the City Art Gallery located in the heart of the Vista. The People’s Choice Award is chosen by a vote of Soiree attendees. This winner is awarded $150 and a Contemporaries’ membership.

Worship & The Arts Series: Weekend Intensive for Painters - October 18-20 2007
Worship ArtsThrough lectures and hands-on workshops, Alex Radin and Amelia Whaley will encourage and equip painters, in either acrylics or watercolor, to discover new places in worship through their artwork. The conference is open to everyone--from the beginner to the professional. For more information such as descriptions of lectures and workshops and to register visit St. Andrews Church website." Thursday evening will be open to the public. Dwight Huthwaite will lead our times of interactive worship together. Registration is limited to 50 participants. We hope to see you there.
New Wine USA - June 14-17 2007
New Wine USA
Cry FreedomNew Wine USA is a conference that takes place in the summer of every year over an extended weekend with a focus on seeing what the Holy Spirit is doing and saying to the Church. It is currently held at Van Hoy Farms which is located 12 miles north of Statesville, N.C . Alex painted along with other artists from St. Andrews Church during the evening sessions which included being a part of a collaborative worship painting that had contributions from over 7 artists.

Self-Referential Box" presented by the Washington Arts Group in our Nation's Capital.

Journey to Israel - Mar 20th 2007 - April 5th 2007

Alex and his family traveled with a group from Atlanta, GA, along with friends from home to Israel for a tour of the Holy Land. They spent time
in Jerusalem, Galilee, the Golan Heights, the Dead Sea area, as well as various coastal cities including Tel Aviv, among other places. Highlights from the trip included two nights spent worshipping at the Jerusalem House of Prayer as well as the night they celebrated Passover together on the edge of an ultra-Orthodox Jewish community in Jerusalem.

Life in Deep Ellum Exhibition - Jan 20th 2007 - Feb 20th 2007
life in deep ellum

This one month exhibition featured the "Approaching Release Series" the "Restoration Series" as well as some spontaneous worship paintings many of which were painted during worship at various churches in the Dallas/Fort Worth area. While there Alex taught workshops on art and the creative process and his wife conducted several workshops on modern dance at the community center that is part of Life in Deep Ellum.
