In South Carolina, Alex has continued painting and illustrating, and has transitioned from painting mostly in his home studio to also painting publicly during worship services at conferences, churches, and concerts. The content of these spontaneous worship paintings are often prophetic and can be spiritually interpreted.

Alex doesn't like placing his work in a box or a style and will tell you when asked about his approach to painting, "True art is born out of passion. I am interested less in technique and more in what is communicated, what a person feels, learns, really sees, when they encounter a work of art. With all that said I tend to like abstracting reality to communicate the spiritual significance of my observations of the tangible world based on my experiences. I paint what I really see, hear, smell, touch, taste and feel. I like to take some time and detach from my subject matter and really get lost in the design and break up of shapes and space. I am intensely interested in the conversation that colors have with one another as well as communication between strokes; Relationships between color and color, color and strokes, strokes and shapes, strokes and strokes, shapes and color, shapes and shapes... Even though I get lost in all this, I always return to my subject matter in the end ."

Alex and Sara and their two daughters currently live in Hanahan, SC with their Siberian Husky Shai who would like to move to somewhere colder. They enjoy traveling both locally, nationally, and internationally encouraging people to worship God through the creative arts. They also operate their own website and graphic design company, Further Design Group.
